TAKING CARE OF YOUR NEW PUPPY
Thank you, and God bless you for loving one of our babies.
We love sharing information about caring for your new puppy, so here are some things we do for our puppies.
Please feel free to contact us anytime (24/7); that is what we are here for.

We free-feed our puppies Science Diet Puppy Small Bites food. We give them nothing but distilled water that can be purchased at any Wal-Mart, and they drink from nothing but stainless steel bowls.
If your puppy is not eating good for the first day or two, we suggest giving him/her Gerber's Meat Sticks (Chicken or Turkey) for babies, but no more than two or three at a time. We really stress that you have these on hand before the puppy arrives. Also, we recommend having a tube of Nutri-Stat handy. We give them about an inch off our fingers (1/2 inch twice a day).
We use the scented puppy pads, which can also be purchased at Wal-Mart, to potty train our puppies on.
Our dogs have never been caged or crated. If you want to put your new puppy in a room while you are gone, then we suggest investing in a baby gate to confine the puppy to a designated area.
We use Fresh-N-Clean Oatmeal and Baking Soda Shampoo and Fresh-N-Clean Conditioner. Each time we shampoo them we also condition them. At bath time, we put 10 to 12 white hand towels in the oven and turn it to about 215-225 degrees. We wrap our puppy in warm large hand towels after the bath and just rock and muss the puppy in order to absorb a lot of the moisture; it helps the puppy bond with you. We do not use the blow dryer until the puppy is 99% dry, and then we use it on the lowest heat setting. We never blow in their faces (we keep the dryer a good 24" from their bodies).
To rid the puppy of tear stains, we use just a few sprinkles of Angels Glow on their food; it works really great. Their toll-free number is 1-888-364-4569 (Monday through Friday 8:00 to 5:00).
We give treats like baby carrots and small pieces of a peeled apple (just a few bites of the apple sliced very thin). They love these treats. We do not give too much apple, because the apples tend to cause loose stools.
All new puppies chew or tend to nibble because they are teething. It is recommended to have a chew toy or a chew stick (one that cannot be swallowed) so the puppy will have something to gnaw on and help with having healthy teeth.
We know you may have other questions pertaining to your new puppy, and we want to help you as much as possible. We are at home most all the time. If you call and we happen to be gone, just leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you so much for giving one of our babies a loving good home to go to. We pray that you enjoy them and love them as much as we do and that they bring you as much happiness as they have brought us.
